A company called Codeweavers recently announced a software package in development that would allow some Windows based applications to run on new Intel Macs. Today, they released CrossOver Mac to the public beta. The interesting thing about this software is that unlike BootCamp or Parallels, it does not require you to install Windows on your machine. Instead, it will run Windows programs right in OS X! Of course, you can only run a limited number of programs, but Codeweavers already released a list of about 2000 compatible applications which is pretty impressive. Go and download your free 60-day public beta right now and give it a try!

August 31st, 2006For Sale: Aston Martin
August 31st, 2006So it's not Jaguar, nor Land Rover but Ford is selling one of their brands, and for good reasons. In a press release today, Ford announced that they are looking to sell all or a portion of Aston Martin. The sale makes sense: the parts can't be shared with other Fords brand and it has a completely different dealer network. The brand is also doing better than when Ford first purchased it, so it's a perfect time to sell for a bigger return. Not even a few hours later, we already know of two top luxury European firms bidding on the brand: Richemond (jewerly and watches) and LVMH (owns Louis ...
Computer support at your school?

I'm about to start my second year as a ResCon (Residential Consultant) and it's interesting to see how our service is improving each year. This value-added service is available to all students for free (or actually as part of their tuition), so it's pretty popular. The services We pretty much support any computer related issue. Whether a virus found its way to student's computer or they are simply having trouble connecting to our network, we're there. This year there are 32 ResCons who are trained to handle a big variety of issues, but it's a ...
The quiet upgrade
August 15th, 2006Late last night, I finally decided to push the new design to the general public. So what you see now has been in the works since June (whoa!). I was only able to work on it a little bit here and there being busy with more important things as always. I tried putting a unique creative twist to the everyday blog site that you see all over the web. Thus, you will find some animation, some Ajax (uhoh buzzword!) and some other cool little things. As always, I'm looking for some feedback (suggestions, bugs, etc) on any aspect of the site in the form of comments to this post as I'm yet to get the contact page up and running. Things to check ...
