Dimitry’s Blog

The quiet upgrade

August 15th, 2006

Late last night, I finally decided to push the new design to the general public. So what you see now has been in the works since June (whoa!). I was only able to work on it a little bit here and there being busy with more important things as always.

I tried putting a unique creative twist to the everyday blog site that you see all over the web. Thus, you will find some animation, some Ajax (uhoh buzzword!) and some other cool little things.

As always, I’m looking for some feedback (suggestions, bugs, etc) on any aspect of the site in the form of comments to this post as I’m yet to get the contact page up and running.

Things to check out

Check out the menu on top left for sure. Most of the pages are still down and will be completed one by one as I try to squeeze out the little free time I have.

Also, the search box was ingeniously (or not) hidden on top right. Just click the icon. Is it hard to find? Is it hard to use?

IE warning

Being a Mac user, I currently don’t have IE to test on while developing. I do know of some bugs already though primarily in the menu and some alignment (floating) issues with the content.

I will try to fix those as soon as I get my PC, but as of now, sorry IE users.

Enjoy!

I’m lovin’ the layout sir. The touches with the search bar being sneaky is pretty great! Also don’t forget to add the “My love” page. It’s the first thing I wanted to click! The links page is a bit intimidating with the giant list with nothing to go by but their title. I appreciate the links you have on there for sure. Word up 43 folders.

Finally! I sure hope you go back up to school and find a nice Starbucks to blog at now. By the way, the page doesn’t load in IE at all, I’m not sure why.

Just kidding… looks good. Have a good semester.

Very nice refresh. I liked the old one, but this one is superb. The search is definitely hidden, but I like it that way. Very cool. Also, I kind of laughed when I looked at your love page and get the message “You are looking for something that isn’t there”. Unintentional, but I found humor in it.

Good work. Pleasing colors. Can’t wait to see the rest.
